Comprehensive Plan Update

St. Mary’s County is experiencing economic and population growth, as more businesses and people are attracted here for all that St. Mary’s County has to offer! We want to hear from the community about how best to guide future change in the county.

It is time to update the St. Mary’s County Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted in 2010 by the Commissioners for St. Mary’s County.

The new Comprehensive Plan will be entitled, “St. Mary’s 2050: Charting Our Tomorrow.” This Plan will chart a course to achieve the community’s future land use, economic, and quality of life goals over the next 25 years.

The Plan will:

• Identify long-term priorities for preservation, development, and investment
• Establish guiding principles and policies for sustainable growth
• Identify milestones for Plan implementation

Ensuring that the updated Comprehensive Plan reflects the diversity of our community is a top priority and will require extensive community input. Your feedback will help shape the future of St. Mary's County!
